IMWLC 2026 — IEEE Microwave World Leaders Conclave

About IMWLC

The IEEE Microwave World Leaders Conclave (IMWLC) is a flagship international conclave of the IEEE MTT-S, MTT-S MGA Regional Developments Committee and the India Business Committee (IBC). It is designed as an exclusive high-level forum where global leaders of the IEEE microwave community — society presidents, distinguished committee members, leading scientists, engineers from defence and space agencies, and industry innovators — gather to set the direction for microwave technology in the years ahead.

IMWLC is curated around invited thought leader, ensuring every session delivers maximum strategic and technical value. Each edition brings together no more than a few hundred carefully selected participants, creating an atmosphere of focused dialogue and lasting professional relationships.

IMWLC 2026 is the second edition of this prestigious conclave. The inaugural edition, held in Bengaluru in September 2025, was acclaimed by participants as one of the most impactful microwave gatherings held in India, drawing global IEEE MTT-S leadership alongside India's finest defence scientists and academia.

About IEEE MTT-S

The IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) is one of the largest and most prestigious technical societies within the IEEE, with over 18,000 (as of December, 2025) members across more than 160 chapters worldwide. Founded in 1952, MTT-S is the premier global community dedicated to advancing the theory, analysis, design, and applications of microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies.

MTT-S organises flagship conferences including IMS (International Microwave Symposium), MAPCON, and IMWLC, publishes leading journals including the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, and runs an active network of regional chapters, technical committees, and MGA programmes that connect microwave professionals worldwide.

About IEEE Kerala Section

The IEEE Kerala Section, established in 1977, is one of the most vibrant and active IEEE sections in India, with thousands of members across academia, industry, and research. The section actively promotes engineering excellence through conferences, workshops, student programmes, and chapter activities.

Hosting IMWLC 2026 in Thiruvananthapuram — the capital of Kerala and home to premier institutions including IIST, VSSC/ISRO, and multiple engineering universities — is a proud milestone for the Kerala Section and reflects the region's growing stature in microwave and RF research.

IMWLC 2025, Bangalore — Looking Back

IMWLC 2025 was held on September 15–16, 2025 at the Gopalan Grand Mercure, Bengaluru — and was organised jointly by the IEEE AP/MTT-S Joint Chapter Bangalore, IEEE Bangalore Section, IEEE Kerala Section, LRDE, and DRDO. The event brought together over 10 distinguished international invited speakers from NASA-JPL, University of Alcala, Graz University, University of Dayton, University of Bordeaux, and more — alongside top Indian experts from DRDO and IITs.
